Our Metabolic Therapy Solutions program is an insurance covered personal and comprehensive exercise and nutrition program for clients with metabolic syndromes such as pre-diabetes, diabetes, heart disease and obesity.
Metabolic Therapy Solutions provides your patient with an alternative to weight management that is a scientifically proven, supervised by a licensed physical therapist and contract with a registered dietitian, to assure your patients the maximum quality of care available. We promote permanent lifestyle changes to keep the weight off as well as exercise therapy and nutritional education that is affordable.
I was diagnosed with hyperlipidemia and obesity, and was recommended to CPIT’s Metabolic Therapy Solutions program. In addition to the exercises, they suggested improvements with my eating program and always had someone on staff close by to monitor the exercises I was doing or answer questions. I was very pleased to see the improvements made in just four weeks.

We teach a healthy lifestyle and a long-term solution
for people with Metabolic Syndrome’s!
Why is this so important for kids?
Research shows that significant weight issues in adolescents or young adults are almost never solved without some intervention. Most important, waiting has emotional and health costs that could compromise your child’s future. Medical needs, social skills, and family’s financial problems, can have a big impact on a child’s weight.
- Overweight teens are much less likely to graduate from high school and go to college.
- Obese and overweight patient’s experience a 77% and 36% increase, respectively, in health care expenditures – more than a smoking or drinking problem.
- Research clearly states that overweight children are more than 90% likely to become obese adults.
- Obese children’s medical expenses are far more costly than average weight children with more frequent emergency visits and 2-3 times higher probability of hospitalization.
- Overweight teens are extremely likely to have low self esteem; many overweight teens are diagnosed with clinical depression.
- Nutritional factors, much of it due to obesity, contribute to 30% to 35% of cancers.
- Obesity is known to cause between approximately 15% of breast cancers, 14% of bowel cancers, 25% of kidney cancers, and 10% of womb cancers.
- Nearly 47% of overweight girls and 34% of overweight boys surveyed are frequently teased, substantially more than peers, increasing suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, and high blood pressure.
- Weight discrimination, including denial of job or promotion, job loss, denial of bank loan, threats, or harassment is on the rise.
Orthopedic Therapy for Children
Rapid Recovery Programs!
Early care is essential to safely return to activity as soon as possible. Developing a specific and individualized program maximizes function and minimizes the chances of a childhood injury becoming a chronic painful condition or disability in adulthood. We have extensive experience with amateur to professional athletes in most sports.
- Sprains, strains, tendonitis and fractures.
- Knee, ankle and foot injuries. Quality and affordable “off the shelf” shoe inserts for the growing foot that needs extra support.
- Throwing injuries and “Over use” injuries.
- Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries.
- Spine pain, scoliosis and torticollis.
- Postoperative rehabilitation also Preoperative (“Prehab”) for better and quicker outcomes.
- Sports performance – core control, functional balance, agility and flexibility are key components separating the good athletes and the great ones. A comprehensive assessment of your needs leads to a personalized program.

Osteoporosis
The Power Plate is a Drug-Free Reversal of Osteoporosis
Research Has Shown The Power Plate To:
- Reverse Osteoporosis
- Increase bone and muscle strength
- Improve balance and flexibility
- Reduce Cortisol “The Stress Hormone”
- Improve postural control and coordination
- Act as a training tool to help prevent falls and fractures
- Improve health by increasing Circulation,
- Achieve the same benefits of traditional strength training in much less time
Colorado Physical Therapy Institute is performing the groundbraking ATM2 used by professional golfers to enhance their game. This is a biomechanical approach to improve your body’s ability to coil and recoil, allowing you to increase head speed and swing smoother resulting in longer drives.
Scar Pain Therapy
Experienced Orthopedic Physical Therapists, who have been working with post-surgical scars and traumatic scars for many years, will evaluate the situation and determine the appropriate treatment.
Scars and Mobility- you can probably imagine how a tight scar in the front of your knee (example: total knee surgery) could limit your bending range of motion.
Scars and Pain- sometimes scars can be painful as they mature. The “non-elastic” fiber can “press” or “pull” on nerves and blood vessels within the scar tissue causing a painful scar. Loosening up the scar and breaking down the adhesions can reduce pain, improve mobility and restore normal function.
Anodyne Light Therapy- helps heal wounds, burns, and surgical incisions much faster. A healed wound reduces your chances of infection entering through the open area. Wound healing research indicates that scars have up to a 300% better blood flow (profusion) when the Anodyne is used…making the scar more resistant to reopening and “breaking down.”
We have helped several hundred patients become adhesion free allowing for normal movement, less pain and better functionality. This is also effective in all types of surgery such as open-heart and cosmetic surgeries.
Orthopedic Manual Therapy for Asthmatic Patients
- Usually only requires 2-3 visits.
- Proper posture restoration can increase lung volume up to 40%. Therapeutic posture tape can be very helpful for neuromuscular reeducation.
- Education in self mobilization of thoracic spine and rib cage for greater flexibility and expansion.
- Stretching of anterior chest wall muscles to obtain improved posture and lung volume.
- Strength and endurance training of posterior posture muscles and diaphragmatic breathing training.
- Focus on patient education and home program to continue to improve over time with self management.
Orthotics
An orthotic is a supportive device which is placed inside footwear, to change the medianical function of the foot. It is a custom model device designed to apply a full contact force into the arch. It is flexible enough to allow adequate arch flatting for function and comfort but rigid enough to maintain proper control.
Because the feet are the foundation for the entire skeletal system, even a slight misalignment can allow the arch to collapse and cause foot pain to spread to the knee, hips, back, shoulders and neck. Strained muscles, spinal distortion and poor posture can follow.
Common Diagnoses that orthotics can help.
In all there are over 30 common diagnoses related to poor foot functions:
- Low back pain
- Anterior knee pain / knee cap tracking problems and IT band syndrome
- Plantar Fasciitis/ heel spurs “Heel Pain”
- Achilles tendonitis
- Shin Splints
- Ankle instability
- Metaisalgia
- Diabetic foot condition
- Hip pain/ bursitis
- Pelvic list
- Short leg
- Painful foot problems such as bunions, corns, calluses hammer toes , friction “hot spots”, neuromas
- General foot pain
Recovering from breast surgery
Sometimes after mastectomies, breast augmentations or breast reconstructions a patient may have pain or difficulty with their shoulders, arms or neck. The delay of normal function can be related to pain, muscle weakness, scar tissue or nerve glide restrictions.
Therapists at CPTI develop a personalized program of exercises, stretching, an home program to help with symptom self management, and use manual therapy when needed. Only a few visits of therapy are needed to achieve a much faster recovery.
We can get you feeling better so you can move on and enjoy life.
Phantom limb pain
Sometimes pain doesn't go away even if the limb is no longer there. Manual therapy techniques and home program education in: tissue desensitization, scar (adhesion) mobility, stretching, strengthening and nerve glide exercises can often be helpful. The development and education of a home exercise program is an essential part of symptom self-management. Pain relieving creams (Sombra), and other topical lotions can also be helpful.
Chronic Hiccups
Sounds crazy we agree, however, if you are suffering with hiccups you have to try this. We have a manual therapy approach that works almost every time. Try everything you have heard of before coming to us, but when you're sick and tired of your chronic hiccups, give us a try.
One to two visits is usually all it takes. However, this does not work well on infants.
